As for the premier, needless to say I think we were all entertained by it. Here were some of my notes on the episode, some of which I want to bring up on the podcast should I get the chance:

Aang rocked a beard in the credits?!

Mix of old epic theme with new sounds of Korra = badass

Generation to take on the responsibilities of peace
-Avatar fans growing up?

Shot of ships in harbor
-Similar to shot of Admiral Zhao's ships in harbor

"Everyone living it up" in RC
-What everyone thought Ba Sing Se was (city life!)

Equalists
-Russian revolution in similar times?

Change of sound
-Lost my heart in republic city

"Fresh off the boat"
-Ellis Island
-Mix of city with bending so far working well
--Like people coming from the "old country" and suddenly introduced to the big city

Avatar is found earlier by White Lotus
-Ensure peace is kept; Avatar doesn't go missing like Aang?

Naming of Meelo
-Old rumored "ghost" from playing cards?

Characters who have passed
-Sokka, Aang, Toph?
--Katara appears, but says good bye to Korra
---Creators really want to start anew

Zuko's mom
-Curse you Bryke for reading into the fandom!

End of ep 1
-Mix of new music with "peace excerpt" from old show

Tenzin calls his dad "Aang," not Dad?

The 4th kid, the Mom hopes is not an airbender like her
-Equalists become involved at some point? Or Bryke has a heart?

Asuk heads out quick
-Reappears later in disgust at others bashing his bending with their bending? Equalist?

Mako has total Zuko hair (About mid-season 2, Zuko alone particularly)

Seems a lot of people are surprised the Avatar is around
-Kept hidden from the world? Gives equalists a chance to spread?

Line of the show: I will make no such promises, or, She's the Avatar!

Overall:
Pilot retained the spirit of Avatar
-Music was an easy transition
-"Happy ending" with lessons a hallmark of the show
-Animation remained top notch, if not better
-Still appeals to the younger crowd's imagination, but the appeals to its now aged fans are apparent

Okay to the episodes.My reaction is this: ASDFJHGBGBGBGBGBGBAM.God.I love it. I love Korra,Tenzin,Mako,Bolin,Lin,the kids,Bolin,everything, did I mention that I love Bolin?
The animation.God,it's flawless and so pretty and unfff.
Now I shall wait to the next episode.
