So between all the leak footage that has come out, what are your favorites? Have you noticed anything interesting?

I myself love the way the music from the Firbending training clip sounds. It reminds me a lot of the Flameos from season three. Also, I didn't realize this until very recently, but the music that plays when Katara tells Korra that Sokka and her friends are gone is a remix of a song we heard before. It's a slower and more melancholic version of the tune that plays when Katara first waterbends the fish over Sokka's head in the first episode of ATLA.

Maybe it's "Katara's Theme" or something. xD

I personally think The Track Team took ATLA's music and just took it up 50 Billion levels. They did get a fancy suite of musical instruments for Sozin's Comet, and now they get to use it to their advantage for the whole series.

The most recent link, "The Chase", has this amazing jazz feel to it. In the comic-con panel, the track team told the audience that Bryke asked them for "what jazz would sound like if it originated in Hong Kong". At first they were like "lolwut" but then they started getting really good ideas.

When they said that I wasn't really sure what to think of when I thought of asian-based jazz, but when I heard it was amazing. They're using all these asian horns and other instruments to play 20's style big band jazz music, and it sounds really good.

Some people are complaining about it though... because it's not exactly like the music of ATLA. I think we should all try to detach ourselves a little bit from ATLA, just so LOK can get its own thing. I mean if you want another version of ATLA that would eventually get really boring, so changing things is vital.

Exactly. A lot of people are scared of leaving ATLA behind. Don't get me wrong, I love the show, but Korra would be "meh" in my opinion if it was just all about ATLA and not it's own thing. Between the music and the characters we have gotten a glimpse of, I'm excited to see what new direction LOK will take the series.

Interesting thing to note; in scenes outside Republic City, the music is actually very reminiscent of ATLA's style, sometimes being a theme blatantly taken from the show (see: my first post). It's only in Republic City that we have heard the "jazzy" music. I don't know why, but it makes me wonder if season two will still take place in Republic City or not.

I can't wait until Bryke finally release an ATLA soundtrack -.-

I absolutely LOVED the music. Some of it even sounded like jazz, which was just awesome.
