A New Era of Love and Peace

During Zuko's Coronation he talks about the world entering "A new era of love and peace." Do you think that there will be any fire Nation soldiers or government officials that will attempt to overthrow him? Or have all the soldiers and government officials pledged their allegiance to Fire Lord Zuko?

I think they'll obey him. Now that the truth is out loud, and people inside and outside of the nation has a firelord that is scarred, just like them, realizes the pain of all sides, and is powerful and determined enough to stop that pain, they'll follow him... :)

Awesome thread ember. I'm glad someone finally made it.

Hmm, I always thought there would be some rebel fire nation soldiers that were not proud of the new fire lord. If you think about it, since pretty much all of the fire nation soldiers and most of the fire nation were under the influence of evil, it made most of them the same way. So I would think everyone in the fire nation, civilians and soldiers need new teaching, training and a new way to think so they can get rid of their old habbits. That's probably part of the reconstruction of the fire nation as well as the world. Hopefully there won't be some kind of rebellion against zuko.

I think this very issue was supposed to be addressed by Zuko and Azula's duel at the end.
With so many witnesses, surely that was the point at which the Fire Nation clearly saw their two choices.
Zuko was banished and dishonored, but fought for peace and humanity.
Azula was exalted and set in the throne, but fought only for herself.

Seeing both heirs display plainly their true colors, most Fire Nation citizens likely decided that Azula was not fit to lead.

Now there may be those who felt that Zuko is too weak while Azula was an idiot.
Such people would say yes to world conquest, though they would advocate a less extreme method than Ozai or Azula.
Such men might be even more dangerous as well.

I would say that all the Fire Nation is rather honor-bound to their Firelord regardless of their own feelings and desires.
But perhaps there are those who feel more strongly bound to their nation than their leader.

I think in any new government and stuff, there are always going to be the rebels.
Perhaps the older Fire Nation people will repel Zuko's new regime, because they have lived and been fed these ideas of supremacy all their lives.

I imagine that Zuko will have a very hard time with trying to introduce a new more tolerant mindset into his nation. I mean, look at the Fire Nation schools!

I think that there would not be a rebellion. After all, Zuko is friends - and allies - with the Avatar. I highly doubt that anyone, even a discontented fire nation general, would mess with the gAang.

I think that there might be a few rebellions especially from former Fire Nation soldiers, but nothing that can't be stopped.

There would probably be some rebellions from Ozai and Azula supporters, but hopefully nothing to severe.
