Best Episode?

"The Puppetmaster"- Bloodbending! It shows a dark side of the series, and the whole choose good vs evil thing when Katara didnt want to bloodbend. And Hama is my second favorite character

"Sozins Comet"-probably the best action ever, and the overall end of the series

"Crossroads of destiny"-great Azula action, she looked so good in her earth kingdom stuff

"Lake Laogi"- Dai Li at their best. They are just awesome. Also, Joo Dee. I love Joo Dee lol

I also like the Zuko vs Azula part of the Earth King, and the Azula vs Suki part of Appa's Lost Days (although during this fight I hated Azula)

i would say that my chocies would be similar but my favourite would definately be the ember island player it was soo funny

Best Episode?

Postby the1stpkmnfan » Sat Feb 21, 2009 9:59 pm

I liked the souther raiders, too. I was like screaming inside my head once I knew how and why Kya died from the raid.

Though, I thought when Hakoda said Kya, I thought he was yelling to Katara, as like a nickname. But I got clear notice that he mean his wife.

I think the season finales of all three seasons were kind of like the best. In my vision, I'd say they get better and better. Each finale makes the series something amazing to watch. I just can't pick one instead of the other.

When it comes to something I literally love and it's a series, I have a hard time picking a favorite thing out of it. So I have multiple best episodes like everyone else does.

All-Time Best (in no order)
The Blue Spirit- An episode that keeps you on edge and really keeps you guessing where the story will go now if you've never seen the series past this episode. The twist at the end was brilliant and the best part was that it made perfect sense and wasn't just thrown in there.

Zuko Alone- This episode is good because it's the first time since The Storm that we get a good look at Zuko's character. It really keeps you guessing here if Zuko is a good guy or a bad guy. What's also neat about this episode is that it gives us a more in-depth preview of the Fire Nation in terms of looks and how things work.

The Guru/The Crossroads of Destiny- Whenever these episodes are shown on TV, they're almost always together so I just regard them both as one thing when I know they're two episodes. Anyway, if you ask me, this was when Avatar was at the peak of awesomeness compared to the rest of the show. So much was going on and when the finale ended, almost all of that was still unanswered thus we all were very impatient with the hiatus the crew pulled on us.

The Southern Air Temple- Sure, it was a "pit-stopy" episode, but that's what all of season one was basically until you got to The Storm. Between the dead people being shown on a cartoon show and Zuko's Agni Kai with Zhao, it's hard to pick one thing that makes this episode so damn good.

The Storm- Need I say more? This episode, aside from the very first three of the show, is really where Avatar began to get deep and complex.

Tales of Ba Sing Se- While people claim it's blatantly "filler", I've always have argued that it's not all irrelevant. For instance, you get a good look at Iroh and Toph in this episode. Not to mention, it's just enjoyable for me to watch.

The Avatar and the Firelord- It might move a tad bit fast for some people, but I like this episode a lot. It finally gives Roku more character than just "I'M OLD AND WISE SO DO WHAT I SAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY...."

Sokka's Master- The sword fighting in this episode is awesome. Not to mention there's tons of comedy here which I like. My only complaint with this episode (and it somewhat ties in with my complaint of season three) is that at the end, Piandao gives Sokka his present, yet you never see the present again when it's greatly hinted that they will need it in the future. So instead of making a few episodes that gives the show time to bring that present into play and explain some things that are still unexplained from book two and one, we get episodes like The Painted Lady!

The Western Air Temple- Sure, Combustion Man pops out of nowhere, but that's what he does basically. I like this episode for the realistic reactions you would expect normal people to have when it's suggested that they have Zuko join their group after all he's done.

I could go on about best episodes to specific characters and best episodes to specific plot elements and etc., but I think I'll just leave it at this. :P

Re: Best Episode?

Postby ArcticPhoenix » Sat Mar 13, 2010 7:07 am

Well I pretty much agree with everything there except I find it easy to find the best episode. For me the best episode is the one that keeps you amused, thinking the longest and sticks in your mind. Therefore, for me, it's The Blind Bandit because I have seen this episode far more than any other and I am still amused by it. I loved the way they introduced Toph's character so that she easily fits in with "the gang." It was also an amazing display of earth bending creativity and had a bit of drama and comedy.

Other favs:

Sokka's Master
The Blue Spirit
The Waterbending scroll
The Puppetmaster
Crossroads of destiny
The Drill - (episode that got me addicted to the series)

I am also not so romantic as to say I do not have least favourites (I still love them.. just not as much)

If I had to choose one for each book...

Book 1: The Blue Spirit
Book 2: Crossroads of Destiny
Book 3: Sozin's Comet (all four parts)

Runners Up:
Siege of the North (part 2)
The Blind Bandit
Boiling Rock (part 2)
and pretty much every other episode (sans The Great Divide)
