The Beginning of Someone's End

Author's Note: I know this is horribly written.
I only wrote it for the sake of fully writing out my IRP character's history.
Who knows if I'll ever go back to give this a good quality version.

The Part Where He Kills You

Spoiler: show
[Music fades in]
"You've caused quite a bit of trouble here, haven't you? I never expected you to go this far. You, my little, brilliant son. You have soared farther than what I dreamed for any of my children! I don't know whether to feel proud, envious... or betrayed." Fire surrounds the setting and a tall, young Air Nomad walks up from behind the inferno. He wears a content face and he stares down to his fallen offspring. The offspring lies there motionless, but warm. His body rolls forward and onto his hands. "Ah. You still wish to fight? Don't worry, my child. You must not fret with any more choices, with any more thoughts, as your father, I know what is best for you. As your father, I have acknowledged all of your great work. You have gone through much, my child. It has all made you stronger and wiser, you have done more than expected. You have twisted the rules, broken the walls that caged you in. You truly are... my greatest piece of work."

The Air Nomad, still content, looks down to a body nearby. The offspring follows his eyes and finds his dead comrade feet from where he lies. Both of them sigh and look back to each other. The offspring now looks more content than before. The fire begins to die out as the offspring takes in a breath of the dusty air.

"Pathetic. The one thing I regret of you. A friendship? How grotesque, and yet, how funny." The father kicked the fallen comrade, neither hurting he or the offspring from within. "Oh? Good. I am mistaken. He was simply used by you. Pure brilliance. I have trained you well. However...

"The testing is over, my son. The results? You have completed many great and powerful tasks, but that is not what I was looking for. And you should know that. You have failed. You failed me. You failed your father. You failed the only person who loved you. It's a shame, really. Here you are, about to die for a goal so obvious and easy, and yet you failed in order to accomplish, instead, a selfish goal. It's more of a shame, to admit that I loved you most. To admit that once you are gone, you will be replaced, just as you replaced the children before you. I have no regrets. This is my work. I will continue until I succeed or until I die. But for now, this is the part where I kill you."

I'm Different

Spoiler: show
[Music fades in]
"Good-morning, my son." The offspring awoke. He found himself to be outside, sleeping under the afternoon's sun and the figure of his father. "You've slept in. You must be sleepy. Let's fix that." The offspring lowered his hand, once his eyes welcomed in the light. He found himself within the ruins of a castle, along with his father. His father walked from him and to another one of his children. His other child looked very bright and pink, the offspring was not used to an appearance like this. The father rewarded him for his deception, his lies, and his tricks to bend or avoid certain rules. His other child jumped and made an awkward, high-pitched noise when his father hugged her. This was the first the offspring saw of father's other children. Though, he had caught quick glimpses here and there, the offspring was openly allowed to pour his eyes onto her. She fit all of the traits father had explained to him that meant beauty. Though, he did not see anything beautiful on her face, in her eyes, or within her aura.

"My son!" the offspring's son called from afar, "I have both trained you well and individually. But, now, I must see how each of you do. I must see how my training methods help you each."

"Must we end the other, father?" the daughter asked. She spoke softly, but the offspring could hear her quite well. Their father nodded and sent them off.

The offspring let in no time for amusement as the girl danced around with water following her.Her fighting style, as hinted by their father from before, was exactly the same as his. Through this, he discovered that his fire held an advantaged over her aquatic dance. If he intensified his flames enough, her water turned into a form of white air. She made an ugly face after the two discovered this through combat.

She moved close, quick, and flashy, much like him. Their father trained exactly the same way, though the offspring never wondered if there was an alternative. She threw punches, uppercuts, and kicks with the flowing water just as he chopped, slapped, and danced with the red sparks never leaving his skin. The offspring wonder, though, if she had discovered the one difference they had. He did. He let her continue to throw fierce and swift punches at him, he continued to dodge, block, or step back from them. Soon, she forced him into a corner. He stayed calm, however. She continued to stay on the offensive, while he enjoyed watching her water drop from each punch. She realized what he had just done. She stepped up to grasp some air after spending minutes of nothing but relentless attacks.

"My father, that was not a true test. Is this a lesson? Am I to learn of my enemies' character? I know she is strong, but also prideful and seeks for nothing but your attention. It's why she loved your touch and why she stops at nothing to kill me. I know that pride proceedeth the fall." The father remained back, wearing a content face. The offspring tripped his father's other child, held her down and forced his fiery palms onto her throat. She began to fight back, but he sent his sparks all across her face, into her eyes and nose to keep her occupied. The offspring knew the father did not love her much; he knew that this was just a lesson. The offspring ended his lesson when she collapsed.

"My son. You are just as bright as I created you to be," the father said. He stepped over his daughter's body, just as he stepped over any care for her. "You were most certainly correct. I did not love this child. She was too greedy and full of pride. As you discovered, she was your final lesson. Learning about your enemies, which you did quite quickly. You, my son, are different."

"I different?" the offspring asked his father who just nodded.

The two remained at the ruins of the castle after sundown. The offspring held no doubts that it was located on his father's island. They sat under various columns. The offspring cooked some meats, fruits, and nuts his father had brought from home. The two sat in silent, the offspring in deep thought and his father still wearing his content face. The fire cooked well and quick, letting the two enjoy a meal together. The offspring had begun formulating questions for his father, ever since he battled his father's daughter.

"Does that make her my sister?" the offspring thought out loud. His father nodded. "Are there more children back home?" His father nodded. "Will I ever get to see them?" His father nodded. "Why are we here?" His father smiled and began to speak:

"There once was an Air Nomad... Years and years ago, he was in the long, heavy process of becoming a monk, the master or head of the Nomads. He needed to present a unique trick, of their native bending. The element of air was theirs. This young Nomad had created a different style of their current bending. However, upon his presentation of this style, the current monks deemed it as 'dangerous' and 'lethal'. The Nomad defended himself, he believed his style to be beautiful and to be truly one with his element, with the air around and within him. He, however, could not persuade the other monks.

"They placed him on trial. An unfair and poorly conducted one, at the very least. He was condemned and exiled, his entire society was forced to label him as a threat."

"Father, is this Nomad yourself?" His father nodded.

"That is why I am here. This is where I haven been exiled to," his father lifted his voice to the spirits on high, spreading his arms like wings, and danced around an open courtyard, "This is why you are all here. To learn of my style. To let the treasure I created be passed on to generations after me!" His father sat back down, tired form his recent display. "However, I must rid of the many who abuse my beautiful art, as you had just witnessed by Rael."

"Rael, father?" His father then explained that most of his children have been given names, but the offspring had been deliberately unnamed.

"A name would only limit you, my son. Without a name, you're free to be anything. With one, you're bound to it until you die. This is one of the many gifts I have bestowed upon you, because..."

"I'm different."

I Made It All Up

Spoiler: show
"Is that what he told you? What silly thing to say really."

[Music fades in]
The next weeks, which turned into months, where spent doing father's work. "My son, these are the real tests!" as he would say quite often. The offspring spent his days being placed into combat against his other siblings. Most were complete death matches, while at times the offspring would be out run both death and his siblings in obstacle courses no man were take merely for fun. The offspring learn many things from his siblings, as his father told him to do during his match against Rael. He learned of their names, of their elements, and of their personalities. Before Rael, the offspring had never seen anyone manipulate water. He found it fascinating that they danced with something so vital, and yet dangerous, to life. Quote literally, the offspring was shaken by surprise when he discovered siblings would grasped control of the ground they firmly planted their feet on. And he continue to see others fight like his father, with the winds and air they breathed and walked in. He felt ashamed to bear such an obscure element; fire. He only used it to cook the food father gave to him. Other than that, fire was never naturally seen wherever the offspring was permitted to go. He only saw the water splashing in the ocean around the island, he stood on the tough earth, and took in the fresh air through his nostrils. Sometimes, the offspring would look over the ocean and wondered if a foreign land naturally used fire.

"You, my son, are most brilliant," his father would continuously say after each kill. The offspring found it easy to see their deaths as necessary, he was fulfilling his father's will by putting an end to all those who misuse his art. He tossed out pride of being his father's favorite and chosen child, and only wanted to rid of the plagued and sinners. He thought of them in disgust, being given something so great and spectacular, only to trash it and fulfill their nasty desires. The offspring had troubles rationalizing why they would do such a thing, they had the truth but only dismissed it. They were truly ignorant.
[Music fades out]

[Music fades in]
The offspring had begun his second-to-last match, as his father foretold him. The offspring questioned if he would be the last of two children after this one. The sibling was female and had control of the winds. She moved quite different than how he was taught, this only meant she was a true sinner. However, her moves were graceful and swift. The offspring had a difficult times landing his attacks on her and dodging her attacks form unexpected corners. The offspring knew that the best fighters were saved for last, and she was a prime example of that.

In the beginning, she never lunged any full force blows. Whenever the offspring would strike, she used the winds to lift herself back and then go for a counter. She counterattack, however, only consisted off tripping or pushing the offspring backwards, but never was harm done to him. She continued this for a while, making the offspring think she only wanted the battle to last longer than was necessary. Soon, the offspring became used to her tricks and managed to leaves several deeps burns on her. She retreated onto a high ledge and made a strange facial expression. The offspring knew she was changing his battle tactics.

"You are a master of logic, of thought, of strategy, of great things. You are the smartest of all my children, my son," rang the words of his father in his head. The offspring acknowledge this trait, but did so humbly. Most of the previous offspring fought head-on, with little to no battle plan. The offspring, however, always took a step back to analyze the area. The head-on siblings took little thought to figure out, but the recent ones have been more of a challenge, which the offspring enjoyed. Her, however, she let in no time to think. Nor could he dodge or distract her as he did in the past with few siblings. She hid herself well, until the offspring became comfortable with her fighting style.

She flipped from the ledge she rested on and began her parade of strikes. Her limbs were slower this time around, but if the offspring let her come into contact, they left with great impact. The offspring was able to dodge more often, but she still brought in unexpected swings here and there. On few instances, she would leave herself open and that was when the offspring lunged in. She would crouch back and wipe away the pain of his burns. She left no time to sit and wince, as her brother kept coming and allowed no time for rest. As she continued to crouch, the offspring swung in several styles of kicks. And while she block each kick, the flaring red that followed soon rendered her knuckle useless. The offspring then kicked upward and into her chin, sending her onto her back.

The offspring leaped in and grabbed a hold of her collar. He lifted her face to his fist, but both held bored expressions.

"So, this is how it ends for me? The same ending we gave the other children. And for what, really?" she asked him.
"To rid of the sinners like you. To destroy those who abuse our father's perfect piece of art."
"Is that what he told you? What silly thing to say really."
"How dare you mock our father!" he gave her a warm slap, leaving a scorch mark across her cheek.
She laughed a bit before asking, "What's your name, brother? I'm Sul. What great gift did he bestow upon you?"
"The greatest of them all. I have no name." She continued to laugh.
"More from that man?" He shook her collar, ceasing her laughter. "Please, tell me, how long do you think he's going to keep you? You know, before he brings in the next family of children."

The offspring had more than enough of her. He launched his burning fist into her face and let her dead body dropped from under him. He looked up, expecting father to be there to congratulate him, but he was gone. He was there in the beginning of the match, where could he have gone? Could he be attending to his other, to his last child? He loved that one more. Didn't he?

You Monster

Spoiler: show
[Music fades in]
The offspring's father was not back at home when he returned. But a temptation had entered with him. The room of the last child was not to far from where he stood. The offspring crept forward, thinking of ending the last sibling. End the last of father's wanted, before he end you.

"Wait." The offspring froze. The months that had past, he spent fighting and winning battles, which ended up in the deaths of his siblings. His father had said it was for the greater good, to weed out the flawed and sinners. The offspring was continuously victorious, but did that make him perfect? What if he had fallen in battle once, does that label him as sinner?

"The same ending we gave the other children," echoed Sul. She had weeded out children as well, making her less of a sinner than them but not compared to the offspring? "And for what, really?"

The offspring continued, trying to throw away any doubts of his father. He slipped up to his sibling's door, it was made out of three, poor scraps of wood. The offspring was surprised it hadn't fallen out by now, but he could tell through its holes that the room was vacant. The offspring fully swung it open for further inspection, but continued to find the room vacant. The last sibling was with his father. The last sibling was spending his final moments doing anything. The offspring worried that it may harm his chances of their battle or with his father. The offspring continued to worry as he carried onward, heading to his own room. There, the door was intact and solid. But, that was not how the offspring found it. Inside his room was dust of what he suspected to be the remains of his door. Upon his bed sat a strangely dressed man, the offspring correctly assumed him to be his last sibling. He was flat on his back, kicking his feet up while twirling an apple on his nose.

"Excuse me?" The offspring felt a few sparks in his palm, perhaps this was his chance.
"Oh, ho, ho, ho. Please, calm your nerves. We both know our destined meeting will neither begin nor end in battle. We knew that the second you inspected my room." He spoke with a strange accent, but firmly said his words without even breaking concentration on the apple.
"You're merely guessing that, only to catch a reaction from me to see if you are correct."
"Ha! Our father was right. You are brilliant. Calm, but a genius at that."
"So, you two have been in conversation about me..."
"Yes, yes. But, we both know that's not why I am here. We need to escape."
"Excuse me?" The last sibling let the apple roll off his face and hit the floor. He swung forwards, leaped off the bed, and landed before his brother.
"I watched your match with Sul. I heard what she said. I know it touched you."
"Where is my father?" The last sibling gave a blank stare before answering. The offspring was indifferent about any looks he received, in this case, it may be due to the mask of his sibling's face.
"I sent him on a wild-goose chase. A petty trick of mine, really..." The last sibling flicked his hand in the air.
"You're nothing but a sinner. A flaw in my father's perfect plan. You need to be taken care off, that's what I need to do."
"So, you're still falling for that story, huh?" The last sibling laughed. "You heard Sul. We've all been doing that. We've all been through father's 'testing'. How does murdering our siblings make us anymore pure? How does it determine who is a sinner or not? How? How?"
"The victor clearly knows how to work my father's piece of art more than the defeated. That is why they are a sinner, because they are not up to par. Thus! They must be destroyed!"
Before the offspring could produce any fire, his last sibling had lunged his palm forward. It meet with the offspring's chest, sending him through the wall and into the adjacent room.
"Don't you get it?! This man does not love you! He's only here to use you! To test you! To make you into something you shouldn't be! A mindless drone, who will become more powerful and precise than the creator himself! That's what you are, just a tool to get back at the Nomads who vanquished him!"
"No, no!" The offspring cried. He set aflame to the wreckage around him as he got to his feet. The last sibling tripped him on his way up, and broke the burning wall.
"You've already begun using your own methods? How dare you." The last sibling spoke sarcastically. The offspring gave no response. His world had broken.

Explode with Dignity

Spoiler: show
[Music fades in]
"My son. You have performed well. Not just that, you have fulfilled your father's will. My will. But," the offspring's father said as he stood before him. Along with the last sibling, they stood on the battlefield of the castle ruins. "This is the final test. This will be your most difficult challenge. He is a sinner, think no less of him. And because of his flawed ways, your perfect power will no doubt bring his demise. I love you, my son." The offspring replied with an indifferent look. His father then nodded and walked up a nearby set of stairs, to a crumbled ledge.

"Humor me. Did our father bless you with a name?" the last sibling asked, cocking his head to the side.
"No. And by the visible extremes of your anonymity, I suppose you lack one as well."
"You are smart. It's a shame I must kill you in order to complete my father's will." Their father shouted from on high, allowing no more chatter and for the battle to begin.

The offspring went first, being too impatient for the end. He swung his flaming palms towards that mask, firing his anger at its existence. The last sibling swung water out, grabbed each palm thrust, and tossed it down. The offspring soon tripped over himself and felt the full force of his brother's swift knee. He launched backwards and fell hard on his back. In the corner of the offspring's eye, he noticed no reaction from his father. This has been the most damage he has ever taken in battle, and his father sat there, quite fine. The offspring's last sibling then grabbed his collar and tossed him into a pillar. As he fell, the last sibling sliced his fingers through his back. The water ripped and tore his skin and blood began to spill over his back.

The offspring sent a lucky kick and charged fire into his last sibling's chest. The last sibling fell back and felt his suit burn away. He t hen sent a chop to his brother's back, but the offspring swung around and grabbed his wrist. the offspring crouched and tripped the last sibling. Fire shot from his legs, burning the last sibling's heels and forcing him to stand on his knees. The offspring lunged forward, but the last sibling spat a chilly breath onto his hands. The offspring fell, he tried to mend his hands but they refused to move from the white cracks all over his palm. The last sibling ached himself to his feet and darted off in retreat.

"My son! Finish him! He sins far greater than I have seen!" his father had called from on high.
"But! My father! I thought he was the sinner! My father! Where is thy love for me?!" the last sibling cried out, shedding tears down his cheek. Their father cried louder of his lies and order the offspring to give chase. The offspring breathed on his palms, but with a warm and tender feeling. He got to his feet, still hearing the orders of his father. But, he had enough. His last sibling placed the duty of cue on him. Anymore fighting would harm their chances of escape.
"Er.... AH!" the offspring cried out. He sent a roar of fire to his father, blasting him off the ledge and out of sight. The power of fire leaving his body was alien and strenuous.
[Music fades out]

[Music fades in]
The offspring began a sprint. He past his last sibling who was crouched over, massaging his heels with water. The last sibling then chased after him, easily catching up to his brother's slow, unpracticed pace. The two tried to exchange words, but panted heavily from their previous damage. The looks in their eyes told what they wished to say, apologize for over doing the fake fight.

"Drop it and move on. I mean that quite literally," the last sibling finally spat out. The two raced out of the castle ruins and across their father's small island. Minutes after continued sprinting, they past the several huts they and their dead siblings had lived in. As they past it, they past and left their memories there, too. The offspring found no difficulty in doing this. All his memories were considered of teaching, lessons, punishments, and testing. Testing. Lots and lots of testing.

They covered plains and smalls woods to get to the other side, and when they did they both cheered.

"I told you, my brother." The last sibling ran onto a dock, tripping but grabbing hold of a small canoe. "His mode of transportation."
"But, what is that?" The two of them looked over to a small hut. It stood on the mainland, just before the shoreline, and very close to the dock. The offspring walked over to the hut, his last sibling called you to him as he prepared the canoe, but he was ignored.
[Music fades out]

[Music fades in]
The door swung open and the offspring roll forward as several booby traps swung from above. He was used to such tricks from the various obstacle courses, and continued deeper into the hut. It was dark and creaky, the offspring lit his palm to see around him. Shelves surrounded him, carrying scrolls, scrolls, and nothing more. The offspring shuffled several into his arms and ran out from the hut. He watched his last sibling prepare the canoe for their journey while skimming through the scrolls.

"This... These... His research!" exclaimed the offspring, his last sibling told him to throw them away. The last sibling hopped onto the canoe and began to drift from the dock, he called out to his brother to get on. "No. You have no idea what this is. It's everything. Why and how he did it. His data, the results, and predictions. So, much is on here. So, much..." The offspring looked up to his last sibling. "I'm staying. There's still too much testing to do."
"You're a fool. But, farewell." The last sibling shoved the dock and the canoe began to drift away from their island. The last sibling began to prepare the oars but a bolt of fire crashed into him. Half his canoe burned and began to sink. The last sibling turned to see his brother in a fighting pose.
"No. You're the fool. I've got testing to do, and I'm a little short on test subjects." The offspring walked out onto the dock and shot more bolts of flame at his last sibling, destroying more and more of the canoe. The water beneath the last sibling erupted and blast him into the shallows, the offspring chased around the dock to find him but he was gone.
"Please, if you want to go through my things, at least keep things tidy when you leave." The offspring turned to find his father walking up to the dock.
"I know everything, now. All your secrets, your tricks, your methods! I'm in control now, you old fool!"

And When You're Dead I Will Be Still Alive

Spoiler: show
[Music fades in]
The offspring lunged forward, slapping or kicking. His father swung his body back until his son left an opening. He then launched for his chest and punched with a burst of the winds. The offspring flew and landed on the ledge of the deck. He grabbed a hold of the wooden planks and set them on fire, distracting his father while he twirled in for a low kick. His father jumped and dived into the deck with a powerful gust. The offspring rolled into the water and his flames swirled away. No time was spared and the offspring and his father met again on land. The offspring continued to take the first strike, but was once again blocked and shoved onto his back by a counter. His father began to lunge in his feet, but his offspring rolled away from each. He spun back onto his feet with a blaze of fire flying to his father's face. His father stepped back from awe and the offspring took his chance. He charged in, tripped his father and swung his knee into his father's stomach with a full force of fire. His father rolled off but flipped back to his feet, causing an orb of wind to swirl around him. The offspring stood firmly in his place but was soon given an upward kick to the chin. His father then leap in and tackled him. The winds swirled around them as they dove into the earth. His father jumped up, without harm, but the offspring tumbled and crashed. He quickly recovered and swung back to his feet.

Father and son then began a stare down. Blood dripped from their limbs, bruises colored their pale skins, and the wind fluffed up the offspring's wet air. All else was still. Until they heard a crack. Their faces turned to the dock. The last sibling was sawing the dock with an aquatic arm, attempting to release it into the free ocean. The two then ran from him, but he was ready and shot more erupting blasts of water. They crashed and fell on the dock, splitting it completely from the mainland. Their father swung his arms up, twirled in the air, and gracefully landed on the dock as it began its drift. The offspring was lucky to leap far enough and grasp its ledge.

The last sibling swung his body around, dodging the air chops his father gave him. He then tripped and maneuvered around his brother who was hit with a palm, instead. The last sibling danced around the edge of the dock while the offspring almost fell into the water again. Their father launched more palms thrusts at the last sibling, but he danced with his water and slipped under him and to the other side. The offspring jumped to his feet and kicked his father, burning his heels. The last sibling crouched down and stung their father's heels. He cried out in pain and fell to his knees. The two brothers grabbed a hold of him and prepare for attacks.
[Music fades out]

[Music fades in]
"My son!" their father sobbed, "Will you not need multiple test subjects?"
"Don't listen to him! He only wants us to fight each other! It'll make our defeats easier for him!"
"Why do you think he made it this far?! My son! Meet your polar opposite! You are great, noble, and pure! But he? A savage, manipulative, and seeks to destroy!"
"Lies! You speak lies!" The last sibling looked up to his brother with tears and begged with his eyes to fight for their freedom.
"While you built a foundation in my art, he sought to tear it apart! That is why I named him Pan!"
"You... named him?" the offspring uttered. The last sibling had enough. He swung his arm down, ice trailed it. The offspring foresaw this, he lunged in and grabbed his arm. The last sibling budged and squirmed to break his old, but to no avail. The offspring's palm burst into flames and the last sibling screamed from the burns that spread across his arm. Their father bent farther down and slammed a blast of wind into the last sibling's stomach. He was thrown up high, his clothes burning, and then crashed into the water. His lifeless body rose to the surface.

Their father then turned and repeated the attack on the offspring, he flew and crashed unto the mainland.

The Part Where I Kill You

Spoiler: show
[Music fades in]
His father returned to the mainland with him, but not before fetching his last sibling's body and tossing it before them. The offspring kicked and set the area around him in flames, but his father easily walked through them with a slice of the winds.

The Air Nomad, still content, looks down to the last sibling's body nearby.

However...

[Music fades in]
And his father does just that. The last child shuffles around on the earth, but his father moves fast and strikes his fingers into his throat. The winds follow with him but are mixed with the sudden burp in flames. The last child's father moves in, with both hands, but the last child continues to flare and turn about, cracking sparks here and there. His father is severely burned but soon holds onto his last child's throat. He begins to squeeze the air within him and delivers cuts to his feet to cease his squirming.

"I'm sorry, my child. But, it is for the best," the last child's father spoke, with burned lips. He continues to force the winds out form within his last child. The last child soon gives in and collapses into his father's arms. The dead body is washed by the tears from his father and soon laid on the earth for an eternal slumber. "I must. I must continue my work. I will continue it."
[Music fades out]

[Music fades in]
"I beg to differ." The father gets to his feet and turned. The last sibling stands before him, water crawling up his arms.
