Avatar Arena II

Postby Tera253 » Mon Oct 19, 2009 6:19 pm

alrighty... one last try... (psyche. I guarantee there will be at least 4 more shots if this one dies)

same as the others. just random sparring, EXCEPT...

not quite so random.
bring in a character, and you're going up against me, the God of Awesome.
jk. seriously though, just make a character and I'll have one up within minutes of seeing your post. If you want to fight someone besides me, feel free to sign up for that as well. I honestly don't care.

The only reason I'm restricting the joining in such a manner is, is because people just magically appear and/or disappear.
and, with me as GM, I can messily murder any worthless inactive people as I please.

And no, I'm not gonna god mod my characters into winning. I'm gonna let fate play its course about 99.4% of the time.

OTHER NOTES:
--Avatar characters (benders of all four elements) ARE allowed--from both sides. No one said this had to make sense. I'll be the deciding factor as to what's passable and what's not. I personally think though that two Avatars going at it would be badass.
--This is an Arena, and so "why are we fighting?" is answered, AND the characters know the names of their opponents.
--The arena is made of earth and stone, with torches along the walls, and a ring of water along the outer edge--so ultimately, it's good for any bender, nto givng any type of bender an advantage or disadvantage.
--You ARE allowed to make more than one character.
--Typical forum and RPG rules apply, have fun, yada yada.

soooooo... any takers? or is this another flop?

Name: Haril
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Bending: Fire
Appearence. Wears a male kimono (is there such a thing, I think there is), has grey eyes and long white hair. It flicks across his forehead and falls down his body, draping his shoulders in a pretty boy style.
Weapon: Two hand held scythes chained together.
Personality: Doesn't talk casually, is very formal and religious to his god of fire when talking. Is quite emotionless and has a blank stare

Name: Dento Ikegami
Age: 34
Gender: Female
Bending: Water
Appearence: She greatly resembles her younger sister at this age.
Weapons: just a couple of small knives. She doesn't use them often, and they're not concealed.
Personality: generally calm, though she is also indifferent to most things. She seems to have no remorse over anything she does.
Other Notes: Dento is 16 years older than Tenoko, and so this is a slightly younger iteration of her.

Dento looked around, waiting for her sparring companion to show up. She figured it would only be a few seconds before he would appear and then the match would start. Sure enough, moments later, a Fire Nationer showed up, and so Dento stood upright again.

"you ready to lose," she asked. her voice though was not a laugh or a sneer, but rather, just one that indicated that this was something she said a lot. However, how much Dento Ikegami actually won or lost was unknown at this point.

deciding to see what this Haril character had in him, Dento brought forward two jets of water, launching them at him. Shewa kept her hands surrounded by moter re in case she needed to attack or defend.

Haril galnced upward and began speaking as the jets came towards him.

"To say I shall lose with my lord on my side is a false statement, I shall be the one serving judgement and shall use you," He said, igniting both scythes and spining them, the burning heat of the fire evaporated the water but the pressure still pushed Haril backwards. He moved his body so he was parallel with the ground, the wall behind him served as a launching point for his attack. As the jets ran out he continued to speak.

"You shall be the next sacrafice, the midnight meal that the lord requires. My fire will cleanse your body and he shall eat purely" Haril preached, his blank eyes surprisingly frightening, no expression graced his face, the beauty that he held was not normal, almost godly. As he launched from the wall and into the air he grabbed the handles of his scythes, teh short time he spent in the air gathered fire as he span. His body landed on the ground and the now flaming scythes were ripped from each others presence, sending a vertical line of fire towards the waterbender.

Dento seemed unimpressed by this display of power.

"I need no god or lord or spirit to assist me in victory," she said emotionlessly, "your death will suffice."

Dento used the water around her hands to form an ice pillar. She stabbed it with her knife and used it to swing herself out of the way of the attack before quickly retracting it so it wouldn't get blasted away.

She soon learned, however, that she hadn't swung herselffar enough away, and her right arm was knocked for a umber by the flames.
She quickly enshrouded it in water to keep it cool, and retracted by sending spiraling streams of water towards her opponent.

The spiralling streams were easy to destroy, a few swings of his scythe were enough, the large arcs of fire he blasted from them quickly obliterated her worthless attempt. A few droplets got through his barrier, and even one stream hit his shoulder, stopping him slightly, he looked at his shoulder, it had been dislocated by the force but was numb, just liek the rest of Haril.

Haril took his good arm and released the scythe in his bad one, he started swinging it above his ehad. Fire collected around the chain and scythe, a halo of baptismic fire formed. Haril bended the fire and released the secondary scythe. The fire kept the weapons spinning and it flew at Dento. He grabbed hsi left shoulder and pushed it back into its place.

Dento jumped or ducked when the scythe was in range of cutting her in half. in the meantime, she was forming tiny ice needles that she was launching each time she had to dodge the swinging flaming scythe. using the water she had available to her, and some from around the arena, she did not launch an attack this time, but rather, defended herself.

this[the defense] wouldn't be held up too long though, as it was not Dento's style

Name: Roja Oushiro
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Bending: Native--> fire
Appearance: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj46 ... ireboy.jpg
Weapons: None
Personality: A very quiet individual, Roja has been trained to be a perfectly ruthless fighter, when the situation calls for such. This trait was only impressed more heavily upon him when it was discovered that he was, indeed, the avatar. Oddly enough, despite his fierce training and strict upbringing, he has a love for animals which will not be suppressed, no matter what sort of torturous "training" the Fire Sages put him through.

Needles travelled towards Haril, small ants attacking a giant foolish. He simply held his palm facing the needles and before they hit him he let out a burning plume of fire.

"Small attacks will not withstand the power of the lord. Let me show you a small burst of this power" Haril shouted, blasting himself up into the air with blasts of fire. When he was high enough he balenced himself with his lords power. He held his palm out again.

"Let you be astounded by the fire, let it cleanse your life." Fire shot from his hand, like rain from the sky. "The lord shall rain down destruction and your grave shall be filled."

Haril landed on the ground and kept speaking.

"His breath shall burn you with a brilliant colour" Haril finished. A powder appeared in his hand (after he had dug around in a pouch.) He breathed over it after laying his hand out flat, the flame turned purple and shot towards Dento, the colour change making it no more powerful, but it was still deadly.

The flaming scythes spun back to him and he caught their handles. The chain rested behind him and he waited for the next attack.

@Marik: oohh... an Avatar...

of course, the reason I said the whole Avatar vs. Avatar thing would be badass, is because basically to combat an Avatar, you have to BE an Avatar (or an overpowered high-school-age kid from the show, the concept of which I absolutely detest)

soo... let's see here...
Name: Kada Dao Le
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Bending: Earth (Native)
Appearance: This, only dark green eyes, brown hair, rings on her knuckles, and she doesn't have those puffballs.
Weapons: her fists, particularly the rings she wears on her knuckles.
Personality: Reckless, arrogant. Kada can't turn down a fight. apart from that, she's actually quite friendly, and very easy going. She always accepts defeat with dignity, though she often times brags regardless of whether she wins or loses.

shall I start or you?

[[I guess I will]]

Roja drew in a deep breath. Due to some strange rift in the Spirit world (I sense an interesting possibility for an rp here...), he had managed to sign up to fight against the other avatar. Not only was she an avatar, but her natural element was the dominant element over his. This was going to be interesting. He let out the breath along with a small cloud of steam.

It had been some time since he had had a good fight, true, but this was going to be more than slightly ridiculous.

------------------NEV------------------
@Nev: you might have notuiced that I suddenly vanished. My computer died, and I can't get it to work, but I'm already on the trail of resolving that problem.

"carry on," Dento remarked, still unimpressed. She just thought that it would be more fun to kill him now. "....for power is no match for speed."

the waterbender darted this way and that to avoid the flaming meteors that Haril was raining down upon her. her right arm still embedded in water, she didn't protect it quite as much, as it only got grazed byt a piece of fire, whcih the water took care of quickly.

And then he did something different--purple fire?
it was rather impressive, and Dento may have been hesitant to admit this. Regardless, this did not cut her guard down.
"hmm... perhaps it shall," she said idly, launching barrages of water at his fireballs and at his person, "or maybe I'll freeze you with the breath of Dento Ikegami."
She spewed an icy wind in the cultist's direction. anything it passed had its temperature lowered, but enough firepower, heat, or time and distance could easily negate the effect. depite her heavy gear, she was quite light on her feet it seemed, always darting this way and that as she moved.

------------------END NEV------------------

-----------------MARIK------------------
@Marik: ooohhh.... a spirit world rift/Avatar incarnation RP would be quite epic in my opinion. that might be worth trying out, and by "might" I mean it would. I might have to decide on another Avatar though... but I guess I should not worry about it till it starts, if it ever does, which it may not.

anyhoot...

Kada glided out into the arena with a huge grin plastered on her face. Her billowing brown hair raced with the wind, which amy have had some added effect. on her hands were masses of water, and behind her bare feet were traces of flame. She was clearly an Avatar, and not afraid to show off her skills.

however, upon seeing her opponent, she stopped.

"Avatar Roja!?!" she exclaimed. "how in spirits?"
But she decided to stop thinking about it, for after thinking of the time paradox that might have happened, it started hurting her head.
[OOC--I obviously don't know which one came first, but just for ease's sake, I'd just say that all Avatars, past, present, and future, know each other.]

after she slid to a halt and stopped her bending display a second later, she straightened ehrself up. She was still quite short, but that never bothered her.

cracking her knuckles, she looked calmly in his direction. This fight was going to be absurd--only for the fact that it was probably going to be among one of those most impressive battle displays that this arena had ever seen.

A few blast of water got through his defense, hitting parts of his body backwards, some of them bruised his skin but nothing serious. The wind of ice that headed his way was bothersome and he didn't want to be caught in. As the wind approached him he prepared his counter attack. Quickly he rose his scythes up and brought them down, stabbing them into the ground. Two fireballs appeared in his hands and he placed them on the end of each scythe, they spread through the scythes and chain quickly. Next he recited a prayer.

"The lord shall protect with the power of his word, it's cleansing flame shall take attacks from non believers and stop them in its track, let the firery wall of judgement rise from the ashes." With his last word he scattered more dust, this time ashes of the people he had sacraficed. The flame kicked up and with an extra movement of bending the fire flew upwards creating a wall of fire. Some of the wind got through, chilling his breathe and limbs. The fire wall blocked most of the water bendes attack, next was the judgement side.

"WIth quick work allow my lord to rid you from this world, with his hand I shall be his vessel, let you burn in his flames." The usual palm was held up. Haril elegently thrust his hands, sending burst of the large blueish fire at Dento. [bluish as in quite hot, not actually blue]

Dento cursed at Haril's persistance, and slightly as his connection with the spirits and lords and gods which she did not believe in.

She saw the blast of blusih fire coming towards her,and cursed under her breath again. spinning around, she kicked a huge blast of water to match the fire, and it held it off. however, upon bringing her foot back down, she lost her balance, and would herefore have around 3.275 seconds of downtime before she could fling herself back up onto her feet again.

Haril continued his assualt, he used his wall of fire to send a few more blasts and then began to move. He gripped the handles of his scythes, jumped over the chain and dashed at Dento, ripping the scythes out of the ground, the fire trailing behind. He swung the scythes, sending arcs of fire towards dento. He was soon metres away from the waterbender.

This time Dento did not have much timeto curse, as she was forced into defnsive mode, as with his rapid barrage of attacks, she could not send one of her own out without taking a hit. it was quite a dilemma for her.

jumping, ducking, dodging, jumping again, and throwingwater to block the fire, Dento was kept on her toes.

"surely dancing isn't part ofyour ritual now, is it?" she said sarcastically, but had no choicebut to continue her evasive technique till he slowed down--if he did.

"surely dancing isn't part ofyour ritual now, is it?"

"Dancing is temptation from the devil, I shall serve you judgement, I shall take your skin and burn it, I shall take your heart and make it whole with the vessel, I shall take your eyes and blind them from anymore evil. Your bones shall be buried" Haril said, while running towards Dento. He shifted his weight and spun round, slinging the scythe out towards Dento, the air was scarce between her and the blade. This was on purpose though.

His hand set ablaze and so did the whole weapon, the chain which ran alongside Dento burst into flames. Haril immediatly pulled the firery chain backwards with his left hand, the blade at the otehr end of the chain spun and stopped horizontally, it retracted back with a blade of fire, Dento was in the way.

Dento decided not to respond to his remarks, and instead needed to get herself out of her predicament, and get herself out quickly.

she bent down and sprung herself over the chain and backflipped away to put some distance between him and her. She was not going to spend the fight running, but she did want to be farther away from him, and propelling herself away with her icy wind as a forward attack seemed like the right idea. if she could push him back or pull herself back away form him, she'd be in the good again.

Haril rarely smirked, but this was his sin, enjoying a rabbot caught in a trap. The scythe returned to his right hand, the chain still behind in speed. Dento's foot was in the arch which teh chain made, amking it easy for him to take her down. The icy wind was no problem and as he crossed the chain and trapped her foot in the chain the scythes blades set alight.

" The lord shall chain you to the ground, and test your faith with the five titans." Haril boomed, his eye's fixated on dento.

[ZOMG GODMODDING!! jk jk]

Dento suddenly felt her foot getting jerked backwards, and her face ate the floor. She flipped herself over so that she was looking up at him, and began jerking her foot at the chains in an attempt to free herself. she surrounded her hands with water and still attempted to pull herself free. She did not say anything other than her incessant muttering and cursing at her miserable luck.

Roja watched the approach of his opponent with slight disgust. Such an unnecessary display of power. It was a shame, really. He had been looking forwards to testing himself against her, but now he was wondering whether it would even be much of a test.

Kada cracked her knuckles and then looked at Roja expectantly. He said nothing, simply bowed and then slid his left foot forwards while keeping most of his weight on his right leg. His hands were both held open in the knife-hand position with the left vertically in front of him with the palm facing right and slightly forwards and his right just under his left breast with the palm facing up.

Despite his lack of respect for Kada's abilities as avatar, he knew that he would have to be careful in this fight and think dynamically if he did not want to end up as a speck on the wall. With this in mind, he set eight different possible defenses and reactions in his mind for Kada's first attack and waited. There was little doubt that she would indeed attack first and quickly. Maybe she would even use and end-all technique in hoped to end the match quickly.

Kada remained where she was,as she had been expecting an atack, for she had wnated something to counter. However, since the fire Avatar did notmake a move, she knew that he was likely expecting an attack from her.

This was quite a dilemma actually. With both of them expecting an attack from the other, both were ready to counter something, and this could be a timely stalemate. Kada was an arrogant and slightly impatient woman, but she was not about to simply crash and burn into this fight. crouching slightly, and sliding her bare feet backwards with enough force [and perhaps a bit of earthbending] left 'scratch marks' in the ground from her toes. She had slowymigrated back a few feet, and realized she was stalling.

"enough of that, Kada, there needs to be some action!"

and so she decided to launch an attack, in the form of a stream of fire surrounded by spirals of water, which was close enough to the fire to become heated, but not close enough to evaporate. Unlike her reckless display of power, Kada's moves seemed more sophisticated--and powerful.

And this one was simply to get the fight started.

[[and somewhat creative, as well.]]

Roja narrowed his eyes at the use of simultaneous bending. Was there a reason that she had not used her native bending? Perhaps she simply wanted to start things off like this with no real rhyme or reason.

Regardless of Kada's reasoning, she had graciously given Roja a stream of fire to play with. Taking two steps to the left, he spun as the flame and water helix passed him and he began to bend the flame while leaving the water alone which created an impressive cloud of steam when the two got near to each other. Careful to maintain the intensity behind the flame, Roja swept his arms around his body and the stream of fire followed in a circular path around him and then catapulted back towards Kada, leaving Roja in the same stance in which he had originally stood.

However, he soon abandoned that stance and spread his legs wide, stomping down with his left foot and pulling his fists back to his hips. Four boulders leaped up from the ground and, as the screaming column of fire still dove towards Kada, Roja snapped off two quick punches and a moon kick which launched all four boulders quickly after the fire.

Of course, he really had no delusions of hitting Kada with her native element, but this may prove to be a reasonably test of her abilities, depending on how she chose to deal with the multiple incoming attacks.

Kada had not expected to actually nail Roja with his own native element, and figured that he did not think he would hit her with her own. what he was thinking did not concern Kada too much, as right now, her strategy was to keep from being smeared against the opposite wall. backflipping with the help of airbending, she put a little more distance between her and the blast of fire, which she then began to repel using a powerful blast of wind.

While her mouth was concentrated on her wind, her arms were spread out openly. she slid her feet sideways, a movement, which, if she continued, would have her doing the splits. She didn't move them that far apart just yet, but used the movement to bring up two triangular pieces of rock to appear in front of her. They were small at themoment, but Kada's spread-out hands soon intensified them until they were tall enough to shield her short frame from the barrage of rocks that soon followed. Being an expert earthbending master, she was used to getting hit with flying boulders, and so she knew just how thinck and how hard she would have had to make her shield. It was still split in two sections along a thin vertical line right down the middle, but whether or not Kada was going to send it at Roja was not clear.
[OOC--her barrier at themoment looks like the triangle one that Toph made in "The Blind Bandit" except she hasn't thrown it yet]

instead, Kada flipped several feet into the air, and had perviously surrounded her hands and feet with large masses of rock and/or ice, which she soon began throwing out at him. She was using bending to stay airborne, but since Air was her opposite element, she was not the most skilled flier, nor near as masterful at staying airborne as an Air Nomad by any means.

As a result, once her rapid barrage of water, rock, earth and ice had been launched, she hit the ground with a powerful shaking force.

This was Kada's style--making each of her moves glide directly into her next move.
