Warlock

[Zhaaral]

This is about a warlock who has to prevent The Avatar, who is currently possessed by the Devil Belzial, from using the six Elemental Runestones to bring upon The Apocalypse. This is based 100 years after the original series. Please write and tell me what you think.

Chapter 1: Possession

It was quiet at the Western Air Temple. Suddenly there was a loud scream and several other strange noises. Kuzon was trying to resist Belzial's touch. It was no good. Kuzon had been possessed by the Devil.

"This is by far, the best plan I have ever had. Using the Avatar to wipe this planet of humans. The Legions of Hell will soon conquer this pitiful world!"

Hearing of the news, the druid's dispatched the warlock known as Richard Kane. Richard rushed off to the Western Air Temple. But when he arrived all he saw was pandemonium. No one had survived.

"It's just like 100 years ago." said Richard,

"That bastard!"

He saw a monk who was still alive. For now. He rushed over.

"Monk! Hold on I can heal you."

"Don't."

"But if I-"

"Your task is to stop the Devil. Don't save me, my time has come."

Richard said nothing, he buried the dead monks. He left the temple with anger and hatred in his heart. Kuzon is a prince from the Fire Nation who was the next Avatar. While he was learning how to Air bend Belzial took him over. Belzial was at Omashu, where the first Runestone is.

"Yes, the first stone. And no Kane to stop me!"

He took the stone instead of absorbing the energy. As usual. He left Omashu and was flying towards The North Pole. Unfortunately for him, Richard was there, waiting.

"Hi there, Belzial."

"Damn you Kane!"

Richard lashed his whip out at Belzial. It wrapped around him. He quickly threw him over head and he landed face first in the snow.

"Look Belzial, you know what happens next, I stab Kuzon and you leave his body and he survives."

"I'm not falling for that s**t again!"

Belzial burned Richard's face by firing a bolt of lightning. While Richard was distracted, Belzial flew off. Richard loked up and saw that he was gone. He was angry and glad. He hadn't gotten hold of the second stone. Richard found the stone called Ort. And absorbed the energy stored inside. He was praying that Belzial doesn't find all six Runestones of the Six Magickal Elements.

"He is clever. He thought this one through."

Richard was unsure of the task that lied ahead. But he was confident. Like all his ancestors, he'll banish Belzial(they can't kill him, he is an immortal demon). If he fails, the world is doomed and will be left in the hands of the demons or Hellraisers as they're called. Richard left the North Pole in search of Belzial. He has to get that stone. There are 4 natural elements(as soon to be explained in The Druid's Circle) and Six magickal elements. All those combined with a druid's magick and the use of The Juggernaut(a powerful concentration of magick and bending that has been called a Suicide Attack, only a few druids survive and they become warlocks when they survive) makes a warlock. But what will it do to a normal human? Lets not find out.

Chapter 2: Omashu

Richard arrived in Omashu, where Shael(the first Stone) was taken. Upon arrival the guards pointed their spears at him.

"Leave! No one shall enter Omashu!"

"I'm Richard Kane of The Druid's Circle. I'm here on official business."

"No one may enter Omashu! Piss off!"

"What happened here?"

"None of your business! F**k off!"

"Fine!"

Richard left and was furious. He saw a small pipe on the outside. He looked at this pipe and started to think. He could use this pipe to enter the city, but as soon as he stood in mouth of the pipe a tremendous stench came from the pipe. He had no choice, gagging he pressed forward. He soon realised that he had stepped into a sewer.

"Ugh! My God! This is a goddamn sewer!"

The smell was unbearable. He was covered in all sorts of wonderful things and was staining his clothes.

"Great! How am I supposed to get around the city smelling like a human poo tube?"

"Well, yeh have a bath first."

Richard jumped when he heard the voice behind him. The man was quite short, had a long beard and was about 50-ish.

"Do you know of a bath-house that will allow some black and yellow eyed tramp that smells like a port-a-privy to enter?" asked Richard,

"Eeeeeeeeeeh pfffffft arrrrrrrr......Nope sorry!" replied the old man

"I was afraid of that."

"Come over to my house. Me wife will wash them clothes for yeh."

"Thank you."

"Eeeeh no problem."

After a vigorous wash Richard stepped into the streets. His clothes no longer smelled of dung. He walked around the streets and saw that Belzial hadn't only taken the Stone he had taken lives.

"Oh my God! This is tragic."

Children were crying, men were scavenging and the woman were cooking the scraps found by their husbands. Belzial had destroyed everyone's homes and killed the ones who resisted. Richard was trying not to cry as he pressed on towards the Library. When he stepped into the Library the whole room was littered with dead scholars and other people. There he saw a lonely pedistal where Shael stood. The glass case was been thrown off and the Stone was taken. There was a tablet with Rune(language of the druids, a cross between Gallic and Almeic) writing on it nearby. It read:

'The next two stones reside in the fridged regions of the world.'

The guards burst into the room.

"Halt!"

Richard put his hands up.

"Keep 'em there!"

A guard restrained and cuffed Richard and threw him in prison.

"That's what you get for sneaking in!" said the guard mockingly.

Richard looked out of the bars and sighed. A few hours later a guard arrived,

"You have been released. Your pals in The Circle bailed you out just in time."

He stood up and bowed. As he was about to leave he heard screaming. He turned around frantically and ran towards the lady who was screaming.

"Miss, what's going on?" he asked

"SHE'S GONE!" she said,

"Who's gone? Tell me!"

"The blind girl, she was taken by a group of thugs!"

"Blind? That's not good!"

Richard set off in search of the blind girl.

Chapter 3: The Blind Girl

Richard ran out of the gates. He could find no trail leading to where she was taken. These thugs were very clever, they had covered their trail. Richard started to ask people on the road if they had seen anyone suspicious. Nothing. This made him even more determined. He began tearing the landscape apart(not literally) until he heard two men talking.

"What does the boss want with that blind chick?"

"Dunno. I guess it's none of our business."

"Yeah.....What were we looking for again?"

"You dolt!"

Richard jumped out behind them. The turned around.

"Who the f**k are you?" asked the big thug

"That's for me to know and you to find out!" said Richard

Richard lashed his whip out and relieved them of their weapons.

"Don't hurt us, please!"

"You're not the one I'm looking to 'hurt'"

"We'll tell you everything, just don't do anything drastic with that fancy whip on yours!"

"Fine. Where is your hideout?"

"It's an abandoned mine a few miles down this road. You can't miss it."

"Thank you. You are free to go."

"Oh thank you sir."

The two thugs ran away as fast as they could. Richard followed the road. He then saw the abandoned mine. Two guards were standing by the entrance. Richard had to think about this. He snuck around the back and stood on the top of the entrance and grabbed the two guards by their pony-tails.

"If you value your lives I suggest you don't make a noise." said Richard.

The two men gulped and ran away. Richard proceeded down the long tunnel. He was in a large cavern but there were no guards. There was a light in an alcove. He ran towards the alcove. There he saw her. Her hands were bound to a pole with earth and a white gag had been tied around her mouth. He walked closer to her. He saw that she had been beaten.

"Don't worry. I'm here to help."

She nodded and he used his earth bending to free her hands. She couldn't stand properly. He helped her up and pulled the gag off.

"What happened?"

"They injured my legs. I can't walk."

"Bastards."

He started to carry her to the door. He heard a voice behind him.

"What are you doing with her?" asked the voice,

Richard turned around and saw a man in Dai Li uniform.

"A rogue Dai Li?"

"Yes I am. And you are an intruder!"

"What do you want with her?"

"Nothing you need to concern yourself about!"

"You sick dog!"

"What are you going to do about it, c**t?"

"THIS!"

He fired a bolt of magick and it blew the Dai Li's head off.

"Let's go!"

He picked her up again and ran out the door. He continued to run, his legs couldn't take it anymore. He had to stop. He put her down and rested.

"What's your name?" he asked

"Li Mei" she replied.

"That's a nice name."

"Thanks."

After his rest he walked back into Omashu. But she didn't want to go back. She had nothing there. So, he agreed to let her acompany him on his task.

Chapter 4: The hunt for Ith

Richard was carrying Li Mei down to a nearby stream. He needs water in order to heal her broken leg. He put her down under a tree and gathered water into a small couldron that he carries in his seemingly bottomless pockets. He made a fire and started to heat up the water. When it got hot enough he started to add herbs and different mysterious remedies. The smell was getting worse. After it had brewed he poured it into a cup. He handed it to her.

"Drink this. I know it tastes like s**t but it'll help you recover while I put you legs back in their place. You should be able to walk afterwards."

"Okay"

She drank the awful potion. Richard used his waterbending and his skills as a chiropractor to put her bones back into place. She rested for the whole day. Next morning she was able to walk again.

"I can walk again. How did you do it?"

"It's all in the technique."

She smiled, leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.

"Thank you Richard."

"Anything to help."

They got back on the road. It'll be harder now for Richard to get to the South Pole because he can't teleport himself and somebody else. So he thought about flying. He needed to find a good spot to fly, without any obstructions. So, they carried on down the road and came to an open part of the forest.

"Perfect."

"What's perfect?"

"You'll see."

He ran to the centre and closed his eyes. He searched for Belzial's energy signal. He found it just outside the Fire Nation. He opened his eyes and grinned.

"Li Mei, we're going to the South Pole."

"How?"

"We fly."

"How?"

He grabbed her and held her close.

"Hold on tight."

He jumped and flew into the air. Li Mei held on screaming. After awhile she got used to it. Soon they arrived at the South Pole. Upon landing he didn't look where he was landing. He landed several miles away from the village.

"I think I took a wrong turn."

He got back into the air and landed just outside the village. He walked in with Li Mei in tow. The whole village stared at the strangers. Richard saw somebody approach them.

"Who are you, strangers?"

"I'm Richard Kane and this is my friend Li Mei."

The whole village gasped in astonishment when he mentioned the name 'Kane'.

"Ahhh. Another Kane has graced our village with his presence."

"Uhh, yeah. I guess."

Richard didn't like the look on this man's face. He was sly and he has the look of an evil man.

"May we be permitted to stay in your village and search for a magickal stone? If it's not too much trouble."

"Oh, no problem at all Mr. Kane. Stay as long as you like."

"Thank you, that's very kind of you."

"Indeed."

Richard still had a funny feeling about that man. He warned Li Mei about him and said that she must just stay away from him. She nodded in acknowldgement. He was plotting something. Richard decided to start the search tomorrow. Belzial was still searching the Fire Nation.

Chapter 5: The plot

Richard was asleep, Li Mei was outside just walking around. Insomnia. She heard something, or someone's voice. She was an earthbender so she had no problem getting around. She listened in on their conversation.

"Alright, listen up. Lord Belzial wants Kane's head. When Kane goes to retrieve his precious stone, we'll sneak up and kill him. But remember men, he is a warlock, use the soulstones given to you by Belzial."

"How are we gonna keeping him distracted while we sneak up on him?"

"Simple. That girl he's with. We need her."

Li mei gasped and wasn't concentrating on what was going on behind her. She felt some one grab her wrist. She also felt something cover her mouth.

"Hey boss. I've got her."

"Excellent. Put her in the back."

Li mei was struggling trying a call for Richard. In the back room there were two earthbenders. The first used his earthbending to bind her hands. The other tied a gag around her mouth.

"Now we can put our little plan into action."

The next morning, Richard woke up and saw that Li Mei wan nowhere to be seen.

"Li mei?"

He could sense her presence but he couldn't locate her. He wasn't going to start his search without her.

"Mr. Kane!' said the chief

"I can't find Li Mei."

"Oh dear, what a pity. When are you going to search for that stone?"

"I'm not going to search without her."

"I know where it is, Mr. Kane."

"Show me."

The chief lead Richard into a temple. He pointed at the top of a pedistal. Richard ean but before he could reach for it her heard a muffled scream.

"It is the end for you Kane!" said the chief hold Li Mei.

"You had her this whole time?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Belzial promised us our freedom, if we killed you and gave him the stone."

"You are all fools!"

"You're the only fool if you think you can stand up to Lord Belzial."

"Belzial should never be trusted. He's the Devil, he is the king of lies. He has decieved you. After he takes the stone he'll destroy your village."

"He won't if we give him your head."

"Foolish."

Richard turned around before the two men could behead him. He grabbed the first man's sword and stabbed him in the chest and he slit the other one's throat.

"F**k! Kill him!"

The chief ran with Li Mei. Richard made easy work of the three men. He then realised that the sword he was holding was Solomon's Edge.

"How did they get hold of my family's sword?"

Anyone could wield Solomon's Edge. He started persue the chief. He cought up to him.

"Don't do this chief."

The chief was going to throw Li Mei into the freezing water.

"You don't understand, I don't want to lose my precious village to Belzial. I'll do anything to protect my people. Belzial promised."

"Belzial lies! He always has lied to the people he promised to spare. He promised to spare Omashu, hundreds died there. What makes your village any different?"

"Noooooooo!"

He released Li Mei. Richard grabbed Li mei and removed the earth around her wrists and the gag. He put his arms around her. The chief stood on the hill crying. Richard looked up at the man running his fingers throuh Li Mei's hair. Later the chief apologised for his actions.

"One thing you'll always learn about Belzial, is that he is a coward. Hit him everything you've got and he'll turn tail and run."

"Thank you Mr. Kane."

"Just call me Richard."

"Yes. Richard."

Richard grabbed Li Mei and flew off.

"Did you get the stone?"

"I have it right here. I've absorbed the energy. Now I have to get Shael from Belzial."

They landed on a beach outside the Earth Kingdom. He held Li Mei's hand while they kissed. Richard was interupted when he felt a huge energy signal fly overhead. Belzial was looking for him.

Chapter 6: Li Mei's story

Li Mei was never born blind, she had perfect sight but had lost her sight after she was captured by enemy forces during a civil war. This is her story. It was a cold morning, Li Mei didn't want to leave the warm comfort of her bed, she knew the day was going to be miserable. She was forcefully awakened by her mother.

"Mei, wake up."

"Huh?"

"You have chores to do."

"Aww, mom do I have to do them today?"

"Yes, it is very important that they get done by the end of the day. Do you remember what day it is?"

"No."

"It's the wedding of the chief's daughter, the feast is tonight. You have to help prepare."

"Fine."

Li Mei got out of bed and found some fresh, working clothes. Her father had been out fighting in the war against the two tribes. her tribe and the Tatsumaya tribe. They have been at each other's throats since beyond rememberance. There was no hope for peace. Everyday the only thought of her father and brother, fighting the war while she and her mom stayed in the village and waited ever so patiently for them to return.

"Mei that totem is crooked."

"I'll see to it."

She used her earthbending to straighten the totem.

"You've been working hard for hours. You deserve a break."

"Thank you."

She sat down by the fountain and stirred the water with her finger. She heard a man run into the village in a panic.

"What was that?"

"They're coming towards the village!"

"S**t! Get the women and children out."

Li Mei was herded out of the village but the Tatsumaya warriors had surrounded the village. She saw people getting killed where they stood. Then she saw her mother.

"MOM!"

It was too late, her mother was killed by a soldier. She fell to the ground and started to cry. Shortly afterwards she was dragged off by two soldiers and thrown into barrel. When she woke up her hands were shackled to a wall. She realised that she was a prisoner of war. The door opened and she was dragged out to a large room. She saw her brother and father. She watched in horror as they were killed before her very eyes. She had been a prisoner of war for three weeks now and the warden decided to have a little fun with her.

"Your father killed my only son in battle. Now YOU will suffer, I won't kill you, just remove something precious from you."

He pulled out a knife and slowly moved toward her. she looked away and closed her eyes. But he grabbed her ching and put the knife under her eyelid. She felt the most unbearable pain. He had gouged her eyes out and tied a dirty rag around it. She was released shortly afterward. She ran as far as she could, fell into a marsh and cried bloody tears. She was discovered by a man on his way back to Omashu after a supply drop. He put her in his wagon and she lived in Omashu ever since. Then, she met Richard who took good care of her. They love each other dearly and she'll stay by his side until the day he dies.
